The article is devoted to the problem of the translation of the culture specific intertextual
elements in Terry Pratchett’s novels. The author of the article singles out the main
parameters of the intertextual elements. These parameters are necessary at the stage of the
analysis to make up an intertextual picture of a novel, and at the stage of the synthesis to
find an appropriate way of the translation. It is important to preserve teleological and axiological
parameters of the intertextual elements to make the translation representative.
