Annotation The paper addresses the problem of training teachers of preschool education for working in a multicultural educational environment. The author analyzes the curriculum of the elective course “Peculiarities of educational process organization in multi-ethnic kindergartens”, justifies the importance of competence-based and cultural approaches to higher teacher education and discusses the term “intercultural competence.”
