Annotation The paper covers modern approaches to the problem of interaction between language and culture. It shows that language is one of the most important elements of the culture of any nation, that it is an important factor in the preservation of ethnic identity. The indissoluble unity of the national language and national culture takes multiple incarnations in people’s lives. Linguistic facts and cultural phenomena can not be strictly differentiated, because cultural changes are reflected in the language. Language evolutions, in turn, stimulate cultural processes. The author uses specific language materials of the Buryat language and shows that culture, representing its highest semiotic level belongs to the world of language as well as to the world of real life. The study involves the manifestations of national Buryat culture illustrated by such tropes as metaphors.
Key words national, culture, language, phenomenon, text, metaphor, interaction, semiotics.
