Annotation On the material of the works of Russian romantic poets of the 2nd third of the 19th century, the paper considers the imagery mapping of the “pure art” analogy between nature and creativity which is regarded as the leading trend. It is understood as one of the main reasons for active poets’ appeal to the topic of nature and is recognized as the aesthetic principle that forms typology. Taking into account the manifestations of the idea that preceded “pure art” in literary criticism and the first decades romantic poetry, the author traces the philosophical origins of this phenomenon, which dates back to the philosophy of Schelling. The understanding of the creative process close to the laws of natural life influenced the tradition of Russian Romanticism, defined its unique manifestation. It became an important cultural factor and a source for the development of “pure art”.
