| Annotation |
The article is devoted to the modern features of social services sphere development at the stage of
its transformation into a social institution. The article includes a systematic analysis of the purposes and
functions of the social services system, points to the weaknesses of the methodological developments
and designates the system functions of the sphere of social services. The article also includes the results
of a survey on preferences and needs of social services recipients. Through the analysis of the survey
of older people, it should be noted that despite the increase in the total number of services and their
recipients, the issue of affordability and the needs of customers has not been fully resolved yet. Based
on this survey, the author gives recommendations for the complex improvement of the social services
system that provide solutions for the pressing social problems.
