Annotation The article discusses the requirements to the modern school teacher and emphasizes that most teachers do not demonstrate a high enough level of psycho-pedagogical training that actualizes the problem of becoming a professional young teacher. The author reveals the essence of professionalism, substantiates the importance of professional competence in the achievement of its vertices, stresses that the successful solution of professional tasks determines the level of the young teacher’s professionalism. The study of foreign experience allows identifying the ways that facilitate the formation of the new teacher’s professionalism abroad: communities of professional growth, induction program (internship, referendariat), mentoring as a component of this program, licensing and certification of teachers in the induction period. The author notes the importance of the adopted Standard of Professional Activity (2010) for the Russian system of education and considers it necessary to determine the conditions that contribute to the success of the young teacher in the induction period.
