Annotation The paper reviews Mongolian terms preserved in one of the most valuable sources on history of Central Asia in the XV–XVI centuries Memoirs of Zahirad-Din Muhammad Babur (Babur-nama). Mongolian borrowings in this treatise written 200 years after the fall of the Mongol Empire can be summarized in five groups such as ethnonyms of Mongolian clans and tribes (aimaks), concepts and terms that the author himself considers to be Mongolian, administrative, legal and military terms and words spread in Central Asia by the Mongols and the words of the Altaic language family. By its content, the first four groups of mongolisms in Babur-nama prevail over the latter indicating a considerable influence of the Mongols and its preservation in the region.
Key words jalair, barulas, qauchin, orulat, alachi, Qarshi, orchin, tuman, Mogul Ulus, kurug Abyar, barangar, javangar, uran, tarqan, daruga, kurgan, karaul, bagatur.
