| Annotation |
On December 14, 2017 the presentation of a new edition of the Zabaikalsky Krai Red Book (volume
“Plants”) was held in the hall of the Transbaikal State University Academic Council. The event was attended by the experts from Transbaikal scientific institutions and environmental organizations, members
of the editorial board of the second edition of the Red Book, governmental officials, representatives of
educational, state and social agencies. The updated edition of the Zabaikalsky Krai Red Book is the
result of great scientific and organizational efforts of a large professional team. Altogether, the Red Book
(volume “Plants”) comprises 247 species of plants and fungi, including 150 – Angiospermae, 2 – Gymnospermatophyta, 7 – Pteropsida, 5 – Lycopsida, 42 – Bryophyta, 30 – Lichenophyta, 11 – Fungi.
Among these, 36 plant species are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. The Regional Red
Book is a revised official document designed to be a procedural, legal and scientific basis for the development and implementation of measures aimed at the conservation and restoration of rare plant species.
