Annotation |
The article is devoted to consideration of issues relating to the formation of discourse competence as a condition
of effective intercultural business communication. We identified one of the problems in the training of professionals
able to conduct business cross-cultural communication. This problem is to have some understanding of what to teach
and how to teach. We show the nature of the business intercultural communication, i. e. the process of establishing
and developing contacts between people of different cultures. This is a multifaceted process which is generated by
the needs of business partners to exchange information and joint solutions to production problems. From the point of view of linguistics the essence of discourse competence, which consists in the possession of a certain set of
knowledge, skills and abilities that allow us to understand and produce foreign-language statements in accordance
with the specific situation of communication, speech task and communicative intentions. The importance of this
competence in the context of preparing future professionals to business intercultural communication is determined.
We propose the technology of formation of future professionals’ abilities to the creation and production of foreign
language business oral and written statements. The stages, methods and techniques of this technology and examples
of exercises are given.
