Annotation The article presents a retrospective analysis aimed at revealing the historical traditions in the field of child development by means of nature. The topicality of the raised questions is connected with the search of theoretical bases of the national experience of ecological education of preschool children. The paper describes the features of familiarizing the child to the nature of the activities of the “Society for the promotion of pre-school education” and Pedagogical Institute of preschool education that was the basis for the scientific research of the Department of preschool pedagogy associated with the mental and moral development of preschoolers. The content of the archive materials by E. I. Tikheeva and Yu. I. Fausek. The article describes the elements of the method for introducing a child into the world of nature in the experience of the first kindergartens in Russia. Reference is made to the studies of recent years in the field of ecological education of children, which are associated with the consideration of the aspect of attitude to the world of nature. The authors discuss the manifestation of humanistic approach in the consideration of the development of preschool children through interaction with nature. The analysis presented has allowed us to allocate lines of preservation of historical traditions of the careful attitude to the developing personality in approaches and technologies of ecological education of preschool children, support and support for the development of the child’s subjective position in interaction with nature.
