| Annotation |
In the paper the analysis of «The Epistolary Diary» by the known Russian prose writer
V. P. Astafyev that represents a collection of the author’s letters from 1952 to 2001 has been
performed for the first time. Here the conclusion is made that Аstafyev develops the traditions
of the epistolary literature, on the one hand, and creates a new form of the epistolary
narration which appears closer to the literary diary, on the other hand.
