Annotation This article presents an analysis of scientific and theoretical approaches to understanding social responsibility as a phenomenon, and presents scientific points of view on the essence of social responsibility as a personal phenomenon. Based on the theoretical analysis, 33 personal characteristics were determined, which theoretically can be the essence of the future officer’s social responsibility. Based on the results of empirical data of 63 subjects, a factor analysis was conducted, the results of which helped to determine the structure of social responsibility of the future officer of the national guard troops. The results of the factor analysis indicate the following structure of social responsibility of the future officer, which includes cognitive, motivational, activity, moral and volitional components. Also, the results of factor analysis allowed the author to identify the fundamental signs of social responsibility of the future officer of the national guard. These include: knowledge of cadets of the tasks assigned to national guard troops, the desire of cadets to participate in public life unit, the ability of a cadet to follow the sense of conscience in decision-making, the presence of the cadets social principles in respect of others, awareness of cadets of the social significance of professional activity, altruistic setting of cadets in relation to other people, the strategy of behaviour of cadets in situations of conflict, locus of control of behavior of cadets.
