Annotation The article is devoted to identifying universal educational actions that contribute to the full perception of the work of art by younger students. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that in modern pedagogical science and in the Federal State Educational Standards of Primary General Education (2009 and 2021), an approach to understanding universal educational actions as actions in the field of scientific knowledge is presented, which does not correspond to the formation of universal educational actions of younger students in the field of artistic knowledge. In this regard, the author formulates the purpose of the article: to formulate universal educational actions that contribute to the full perception of the work of art. To achieve this goal, the author uses the following methods: analysis, systematization, generalization. The author notes that in the lessons of the aesthetic cycle, in particular, in the lessons of literary reading, in addition to universal educational actions aimed at scientific knowledge, it is necessary to form universal educational actions that contribute to the full perception of a work of art. In this regard, the author makes an attempt to correlate the formed universal educational actions and reading skills of younger schoolchildren in literary reading lessons. It reveals that the universal educational actions of scientific knowledge do not fully correspond to the reading skills formed among younger schoolchildren. As a result of the study, the author defines universal educational actions in the field of artistic knowledge that contribute to the full perception of the work of art by younger schoolchildren, such as: the ability to perceive the visual and expressive means of the language of art in accordance with their function in the work of art; the ability to recreate in the imagination the paintings of life created by the author of the work of art; the ability to establish causal relationships, see the logic of the development of the action in the work of art; the ability to comprehend the image holistically in a work of art; the ability to see the author’s position (attitude, assessment) in all elements of the work of art; the ability to master the artistic idea of the work. Dedicated universal educational actions can be formed in all lessons of the aesthetic cycle, in particular, in the lessons of literary reading, fine arts, music.
